There is no other place in San Francisco where one can walk door-to-door finding classic, vintage clothes all within three blocks.



Blue Bin Vintage: 1525 Haight St.

This thrift store is dedicated to providing sustainable fashion choices and spreading awareness on the harmful effects of fast fashion to the environment, according to their Instagram (@bluebinvintage). The shop occasionally puts their clothes on sale with bins filled with vintage pieces selling for $5 each. Their flagship store is located in Palo Alto, California.

Established in the Haight in 1976, this vintage shop stands out as one of the older thrift shops among the new. Its eclectic signs matches their unique yet timeless selection. Their clothes selection tailors to men and women. A room in the back with a sign hanging over the entrance reading "Meat Locker" is filled with male formal wear.


Buffalo Exchange: 1555 Haight St.

Whether you're looking for new clothes or getting rid of old ones, this buy-sell-trade store offers hand-selected pieces for marked-down prices as well as a trade off for your unwanted clothes. To sell your clothes, you will need to present your ID. Then, you will have the choice to trade your clothes in return for 50% store credit or 25% of their selling price in cash.


2nd Street: 1560 Haight St.

This shop is all about providing sought-after brands and one-of-a-kind pieces. One can find second-hand clothing, shoes and accessories from Nike, Supreme, Saint Laurent and Prada among other high-end retailers. "I've seen maybe 5 or 6 vintage stores that are here for a few months, but they all come and go because they can't hang with the competition," said Roman Michael, the assistant store manager of this location.


Wasteland: 1660 Haight St.

If you walk a block up, you will find the hard-to-miss bright red store front reading "Wasteland." Contrary to its name, one can find collectable designer pieces from Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, and more. This store sells on the pricier end than most second-hand shops on Haight Street, but upholds a standard of meticulously-curated pieces for high-fashion enthusiasts.


Roommates Vintage: 1645 Haight St.

Across the street you will find a thrift store, which opened in summer 2023, providing all of your vintage clothing and furniture needs. Patrick (Patty) John, the owner, decided to open his first brick-and-mortar store after 6 years in the vintage clothing business. John's vision is to create a community who values sustainability, diversity, and advocacy for livable wages.


Chameleon Vintage: 1605 Haight St.

This shop curates its collection to Japanese and American vintage clothing. Their in-store Japanese designer brands include Number (N)ine, Commes des Garçons and Hysteric Glamour. Its flagship store is located in Japantown.


Decades of Fashion: 1653 Haight St.

Tuesday-Thursday, Sunday: 12pm-7pm

Friday-Saturday: 11am-7pm

This vintage shop carries clothing from each decade in 100 years of fashion ranging from the 1880s to the 1980s. Through a deep dive into its closet of historical fashion, one can put together an authentic costume accurate to its time period. Owner Cicely Hansen is a local of the Haight and has been collecting vintage pieces for over 50 years.


Everdaze: 1669 Haight St.

Friday-Saturday: 12pm-7pm

Not only does this thrift shop sell second-hand clothing, but also features over 40 local artists work in their inventory. Aside from vintage clothing, their collection includes items like candles, jewelry, pottery, stickers and even handmade crochet pet accessories. The store holds events every week  hosting pop-ups and instructed group crafts. Everdaze opened in January 2024.


Goodwill: 1700 Haight St.

Like any other Goodwill, this store provides low prices for donated clothing and houseware. Although their items are not curated to the current trends, their selection has a wide variety aside from clothes and furniture ranging from items like picture frames, swimwear, books and toys.
