San Francisco Sunset District residents and business owners are planning legal actions after a series of power outages in the last few months.

PG&E customers in the Sunset were hit with more outages last week, but not as bad as the ones before Christmas that lasted for days.

Attorney Marc Libarle says they are asking for help with expenses like food and other perishables that had to be tossed and employees who needed to be paid even if stores were closed.

“The good merchants of San Francisco have been injured and their injuries are not being addressed,” Libarle said.

Working alongside Libarle is retired judge Quentin Kopp. He says solving this issue won’t happen overnight.

“This is gonna be at least a two to three-year enterprise in trying to obtain justice for our clients,” Kopp said.

The Board of Supervisors and PG&E will hear from customers affected by the outages during a public hearing on February 12.
